Best Time to Visit Qatar
The ideal time to visit Qatar is between November and March. During these months, the weather is pleasantly cool, with temperatures ranging from 17°C to 25°C (63°F to 77°F), making it perfect for outdoor activities and desert explorations. The summer months (June to September) are extremely hot, often exceeding 45°C (113°F), which limits activities to indoor malls and museums.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Qatari Riyal (QAR), which is pegged to the US Dollar at a rate of approximately 3.64 QAR to 1 USD. Credit cards are universally accepted in hotels, malls, and restaurants. However, it is useful to carry a small amount of cash for Souq Waqif and smaller local shops. Tipping is not mandatory but 10-15% is customary for exceptional service in high-end establishments.
Getting Around Qatar
For a luxury itinerary, private chauffeur-driven cars or limousine services are the preferred method of transport and can be arranged via your hotel. Within Doha, the Doha Metro is one of the world's most advanced rail systems, offering a 'Gold Class' carriage for a premium commute. For intercity travel to Al Khor or Zekreet, a private 4x4 rental or a guided tour is recommended for safety and comfort in the desert terrain.
