Falcon Hospital & Horse Stables
Located within the Souq, these are a hit with kids. You can see the majestic falcons being treated or visit the nearby Emiri Stables to see beautiful Arabian horses. It is free to walk through and very educational.
Evening Market Exploration
As the sun sets, the Souq comes alive with incense, spices, and toys. It’s the perfect time for a relaxed stroll to pick up some souvenirs while the children enjoy a local ice cream (Dondurma).

Best Time & Weather
The best time to visit Doha is between November and March when temperatures range from 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F). This is the perfect weather for outdoor parks and walking the Corniche. Summer (June to September) is extremely hot, often exceeding 40°C (104°F), making outdoor activities difficult with children; however, Doha's indoor facilities and malls are world-class and fully air-conditioned.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Qatari Riyal (QAR), which is pegged to the US Dollar at a rate of 3.64 QAR per 1 USD. Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, from the smallest Souq stalls to high-end malls. Tipping is not mandatory but 10-15% is appreciated in restaurants if a service charge isn't already included.
Getting Around
The Doha Metro is the most efficient and budget-friendly way to travel. It is brand new, incredibly clean, and has dedicated "Gold" and "Family" carriages. All stations have elevators and are fully stroller-accessible. For areas not covered by the metro, the 'Karwa' taxi app or Uber are widely used and very affordable. Most taxis are equipped with modern safety features, though it is always best to bring your own portable car seat for infants.
