This is a paradise for kids, featuring life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, a giant tropical greenhouse, and interactive physics exhibits that are educational and fun.

A long, linear park filled with public art, buskers, and pop-up markets. It is the perfect spot for children to run around safely away from city traffic.
Fengjia Night Market
Taichung’s premier night market. Stick to the wider main lanes if using a stroller, and try the famous 'sweet potato balls' and 'papaya milk' which are hits with younger travelers.

Travel further south to Kaohsiung. Upon arrival, the station connects directly to the local metro, making it easy to reach the harbor area.

The Great Harbor Bridge
Watch the bridge rotate 90 degrees at its scheduled time. It is a fantastic engineering spectacle that connects Pier-2 to the Penglai Commercial Port area.

End the day with a gentle solar-powered boat ride down the Love River. The calm waters and city lights provide a relaxing atmosphere for the kids before bedtime.
Day 4: Kaohsiung to Tainan, Taiwan - History & Heritage Play

Ten Drum Cultural Village
Located in an old sugar refinery, this park features drumming shows, massive indoor slides, and a scenic overhead walkway that is accessible by elevator.

Yongkang Street Snack Walk
Located right next to the park, grab a famous mango shaved ice or a scallion pancake. It’s a great place for some last-minute souvenir shopping.
Transfer to Taoyuan Airport
Take the Express MRT directly to your terminal. The airport itself has excellent family zones and play areas if you arrive early.
Best Time to Visit Taiwan
The best time to visit Taiwan with a family is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (October to December). During these months, the weather is pleasantly cool and dry, perfect for walking around with strollers. Avoid the summer months (July to August) if possible, as the heat and humidity can be intense for young children, and it is also the peak typhoon season.
Currency & Money
Taiwan uses the New Taiwan Dollar (TWD). While credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, department stores, and large restaurants, Taiwan remains a cash-heavy society for local snacks, night markets, and smaller boutiques. It is highly recommended to use an EasyCard (stored-value card) for all public transport and convenience store purchases—it's fast and saves you from carrying heavy coins.
Getting Around Taiwan
Intercity travel is best handled by the Taiwan High-Speed Rail (THSR) which connects the major western cities in record time. For local travel within Taipei and Kaohsiung, the MRT (subway) is world-class, exceptionally clean, and fully stroller-accessible. Taxis and ride-sharing apps like Uber are also affordable and plentiful, providing a great door-to-door option if the kids are tired.
