Best Time to Visit Kuwait
The best time to visit Kuwait is during the winter months, from November to March. During this period, temperatures are mild and pleasant, ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), making outdoor parks and beach activities ideal for families. Summers (June to September) are extremely hot, often exceeding 45°C (113°F), which limits activities to indoor malls and museums.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD), which is one of the highest-valued currencies in the world. Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, from high-end malls to small cafes. However, carrying some cash is useful for small purchases in Souq Al-Mubarakiya. Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory; 10% is standard in restaurants if a service charge is not already included.
Getting Around Kuwait
Kuwait does not have a train or metro system. The most comfortable way for a family to get around is by renting a car or using ride-sharing apps like Careem and Uber. The road system is excellent and easy to navigate. While there is a public bus system (KPTC), it is generally not recommended for tourists with strollers as it can be crowded and less predictable than private transport.
