Day 1: Tashkent - Soviet Grandeur & Metro Art
Chorsu Bazaar
Start your journey at the heart of old Tashkent. This massive blue-domed market is where locals shop. Head to the 'street food' section to grab a cheap breakfast of fresh non (bread) and hot somsa for less than $1.
Tashkent Metro Tour
Spend a few cents on a metro token and explore some of the most beautiful stations in the world. Kosmonavtlar and Alisher Navoi stations are subterranean palaces of marble and mosaic. It is the cheapest 'art gallery' in Central Asia.
Hazrati Imam Complex
Visit the spiritual center of Tashkent. While some museums charge, walking the courtyard and admiring the architecture of the Muyi Mubarak Madrasah is a peaceful and low-cost way to see the world's oldest Quran.
