Best Time to Visit Sweden
For a family trip, the best time to visit is from June to August. During these months, the weather is mild (20-25°C), the days are incredibly long, and all seasonal family attractions like Liseberg and Skansen are fully operational. If you enjoy winter magic, December is also wonderful for Christmas markets, though it requires much heavier packing for the kids.
Currency & Money
Sweden is almost entirely cashless. You will need a credit or debit card for everything from public toilets to hot dog stands. The currency is the Swedish Krona (SEK). Tipping is not mandatory but appreciated (5-10%) for exceptional service in restaurants. Most places accept contactless payments via phone or card.
Getting Around Sweden
The national rail network, SJ, is the most comfortable way to travel between Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. Trains are punctual, clean, and offer specific family seating. Within cities, the public transport systems (SL in Stockholm, Västtrafik in Gothenburg) are excellent and stroller-friendly, with low-floor buses and elevators at every subway station.
