If you have time before your flight, walk or cycle the Jurassic Mile, an outdoor display of over 20 life-sized dinosaurs connecting Jewel to the East Coast Park.
Best Time to Visit Singapore
Singapore is a year-round destination due to its tropical climate, but the best time to visit is from February to April during the dry season. During these months, you will experience less rainfall and slightly lower humidity, making it ideal for walking between attractions. Avoid the year-end monsoon season (November to January) if you plan on doing a lot of hiking or beach visits.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). While Singapore is highly digitized and Visa/Mastercard are accepted almost everywhere (including for MRT fares), you will still need cash for smaller hawker centers and some shops in Little India or Geylang. Tipping is not expected or customary in Singapore, as a 10% service charge is usually added to bills in sit-down restaurants.
Getting Around Singapore
The best way to navigate Singapore is the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) system. It is incredibly clean, efficient, and affordable. You can use your contactless credit/debit card to tap in and out of stations, eliminating the need for a separate transport card. For inter-district travel, the public bus system is also excellent and offers a more scenic way to see the city's residential neighborhoods.
