Best Time to Visit Singapore
Singapore is a year-round destination, but the best time for a family trip is from February to April. During these months, the weather is slightly cooler and drier than the rest of the year, making outdoor activities and stroller walks more pleasant. Avoid the year-end monsoon season (November to January) if you want to maximize your time at outdoor playgrounds and theme parks.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Singapore is highly digitized, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted almost everywhere, including at most hawker stalls via QR codes. However, it is useful to carry a small amount of cash for smaller stalls or traditional markets. Tipping is not required or expected as a 10% service charge is usually included in restaurant bills.
Getting Around Singapore
The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system is the most efficient way to travel nationwide. Every station is equipped with elevators and wide gates for strollers. For families, the 'Grab' app is essential for booking private cars, which are affordable and provide door-to-door service. Buses are also excellent and stroller-accessible, though you may need to fold the stroller during peak hours if the bus is crowded.
