Best Time to Visit Seychelles
The best time to visit Seychelles is during the transition months of April, May, October, and November. During these periods, the winds are calm, providing excellent conditions for diving and boat travel. The weather is warm and humid year-round, but the southeast trade winds (May to September) and northwest trade winds (December to March) can bring more seaweed to certain beaches and choppier seas.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Seychelles Rupee (SCR). While most luxury resorts, high-end restaurants, and tour operators accept major credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), it is advisable to carry some cash for local markets and small shops on La Digue. Tipping is not mandatory as a service charge is usually included, but an extra 5-10% is appreciated for exceptional service.
Getting Around Seychelles
Inter-island travel is best handled via domestic flights operated by Air Seychelles or the Cat Cocos high-speed ferry service. For the ultimate luxury experience, private helicopter transfers via Zil Air provide breathtaking views and significant time savings. On Mahé and Praslin, private chauffeurs or premium car rentals are recommended, while La Digue is best explored by bicycle or on foot.
