Currency & Money
The local currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP). While major hotels and upscale restaurants like KaLui accept credit cards, Puerto Princesa is still very much a cash-based society. Small shops, tricycles, and market vendors will only accept cash. There are many ATMs in the city center (near Rizal Avenue), but they can sometimes run out of cash on weekends, so it's wise to carry a backup supply.
Getting Around
The most common way to get around the city is by tricycle, which children often find adventurous. For families, 'multicabs' (small jeeps) are also available.
