Farewell Lakeside Dinner

Enjoy a final meal at a restaurant overlooking the illuminated lake, reflecting on a successful family getaway in one of the world's most beautiful valley cities.

Best Time & Weather

The best time to visit Pokhara with family is from September to November or March to May. During these months, the skies are crystal clear for mountain viewing, and the temperature is mild (around 20-25°C), which is perfect for walking around with children. Winter (December-February) is clear but can get quite chilly at night, while the monsoon season (June-August) brings heavy rains that can make outdoor activities difficult.

Currency & Money

The local currency is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). While many tourist restaurants and hotels in Lakeside accept credit cards, you will need cash for local markets, small cafes, and entrance fees. ATMs are widely available in the Lakeside district. Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory; a 10% service charge is often included in restaurant bills, but rounding up the bill is a nice gesture for good service.

Getting Around

The Lakeside area is very walkable and mostly stroller-friendly. For visiting attractions further out, such as the Mountain Museum or Sarangkot, hiring a private taxi is the most efficient and comfortable option for families. Taxis are plentiful and usually have fixed rates for tourist circuits. For a unique experience, the local electric rickshaws are fun for short distances, though they are less common in the hilly sections of the city.
