Best Time & Weather
The best time to visit Pattaya is during the cool, dry season from November to February. Temperatures are pleasant, usually around 25-30°C, and there is very little rain. The hot season (March to May) can be intense, while the rainy season (June to October) offers the lowest accommodation prices but expects frequent afternoon downpours.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Thai Baht (THB). Cash is king in Pattaya, especially for Baht Buses and street food stalls. While many malls and larger restaurants accept cards, you should always carry small bills (20s and 100s) for daily expenses. Tipping is not mandatory but rounding up the bill or leaving 20 THB is appreciated for good service.
Getting Around
The most iconic and cheapest way to get around is the 'Baht Bus' (Songthaew). These blue pickup trucks run set routes for just 10 THB per person. For longer distances, the Bolt or Grab apps are much cheaper than traditional motorbike taxis. Always agree on a price beforehand if the vehicle is not on a standard route.
