Best Time to Visit Maldives

The best time to visit the Maldives is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During these months, you can expect clear blue skies, calm seas, and excellent visibility for snorkeling and diving. The peak "manta season" in Baa Atoll occurs from June to October, during the southwest monsoon, which brings more rain but also the incredible feeding spectacles at Hanifaru Bay.

Currency & Money

The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR), but in all luxury resorts and tourist areas, the US Dollar (USD) is the preferred currency. Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) are universally accepted at resorts. Tipping is a common practice; while a 10% service charge is usually added to bills, an extra tip for exceptional service from your butler or boat crew is highly appreciated.

Getting Around Maldives

Transportation between atolls is primarily conducted via seaplanes or domestic flights, which are organized by your resort. Within atolls, luxury speedboats and private yachts are the standard. Seaplanes operate only during daylight hours, so plan your international arrivals before 3:30 PM to ensure a same-day transfer to your island sanctuary.
