Our route covers the three main regions of Macau: the historic Macau Peninsula, the glitzy Cotai Strip in Taipa, and the serene, green lungs of Coloane. With efficient free shuttle buses and a compact layout, moving between these areas is seamless, even with a stroller in tow.
Day 1: Macau Peninsula - Arrival & Historic Heritage
Arrival at Macau International Airport
Touch down and take advantage of the easy immigration process. Macau is incredibly accessible for families, with clear signage and helpful staff.
Senado Square (Largo do Senado)
Begin your journey in the heart of the city. The wavy mosaic tiles are beautiful and stroller-friendly, leading you past pastel-colored colonial buildings and local shops selling almond cookies.
Ruins of St. Paul's
The iconic facade of the 17th-century church is a must-see. While there are stairs to the very top, the base area is flat and perfect for family photos. Visit the nearby Na Tcha Temple for a quick cultural contrast.

Day 2: Macau Peninsula - Science & Waterfront Fun

Macau Fisherman's Wharf
A short walk from the Science Center, this waterfront theme park features replicas of world landmarks like a Roman Amphitheatre, offering plenty of space for kids to run around safely.
Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre
Walk along the Outer Harbour waterfront to see the golden statue of the Goddess of Mercy. The base of the statue houses a quiet library and meditation space perfect for a mid-afternoon rest.

Day 4: Coloane - Pandas & Village Life
Macao Giant Panda Pavilion

Rua do Cunha (Food Street)
This pedestrian street is perfect for picking up souvenirs like seaweed pork floss rolls and enjoying a final Macanese lunch.
Macau LRT Scenic Ride
Take a loop on the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Taipa Line. It’s an elevated train that offers great views of the resorts and is a fun, air-conditioned activity for kids.

Head back to the airport or ferry terminal via the convenient hotel shuttle bus system, concluding your 5-day Macau adventure.
Best Time to Visit Macau
The best time to visit Macau is from October to December when the weather is autumn-cool, dry, and pleasant for walking. Spring (March to April) is also nice but can be humid. Avoid the summer months of July and August if possible, as they are hot, rainy, and prone to typhoons, which may disrupt outdoor activities.
Currency & Money
The official currency is the Macanese Pataca (MOP), but Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) are widely accepted everywhere at a 1:1 ratio. Most major hotels, shops, and restaurants accept credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) and digital payments like Alipay and WeChat Pay. Tipping is not mandatory but appreciated in high-end restaurants; usually, a 10% service charge is already included.
Getting Around Macau
Getting around is remarkably easy. Most major resorts offer free shuttle buses from the airport, ferry terminals, and border gates. For areas not covered by shuttles, the public bus system is efficient and inexpensive (MOP 6 flat fare), though often crowded. The new Macau LRT serves the Taipa and Cotai areas effectively. Taxis are available but can be difficult to hail during peak hours; consider using the 'Macau Taxi' app.
