Best Time to Visit Macau
The best time to visit Macau for families is during the autumn months from October to December. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool and dry, making it ideal for walking with strollers. Spring (March to April) is also nice but can be humid. Avoid the summer months of July and August if possible, as they are hot, rainy, and prone to typhoons, which can disrupt travel plans.
Currency & Money
The official currency is the Macanese Pataca (MOP), but the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) is universally accepted at a 1:1 ratio. Most major hotels, restaurants, and shops accept international credit cards and mobile payments like Alipay or WeChat Pay. However, small eateries in Taipa and Coloane villages may only accept cash.
