Best Time & Weather
Singapore is a year-round destination with a tropical climate. However, the best time to visit Jurong East is between February and April when it is slightly less humid and rainfall is lower. Be prepared for short, heavy rain showers at any time; fortunately, Jurong East is exceptionally well-connected with sheltered walkways (J-Walk) and underground passages, making it one of the most rain-proof districts in Singapore for families.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Jurong East is a modern commercial hub where credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted almost everywhere, including most hawker stalls in malls. However, if you venture into smaller local shops or older food centers, carrying some cash is recommended. Tipping is not a standard practice in Singapore as a 10% service charge is usually added to the bill in restaurants.
