Day 1: Bai Chay - Fun by the Sea
Sun World Ha Long Park (Dragon Park)
Start your journey at the Dragon Park section of Sun World. It features a variety of rides suitable for all ages, with several gentle attractions specifically designed for toddlers and young children. The paths are wide and perfectly paved for strollers.
Bai Chay Beach
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon at this large, man-made sandy beach. It is an excellent spot for kids to play in the sand while parents relax under a parasol. The promenade is flat, making it easy to push a stroller along the coastline.
Bai Chay Bridge Walk
Take a gentle stroll towards the Bai Chay Bridge. While the bridge itself is high, the pedestrian paths offer a stunning view of the harbor and the cable cars crossing the sky. It is a great spot for a family photo as the sun begins to dip.
Ha Long Night Market

Day 2: Exploring the Bay - Water & Wonders
Tuan Chau Harbor
Arrive at the main gateway to the bay. Instead of a cramped overnight boat, opt for a modern day-cruise vessel. Many of these larger boats have air-conditioned cabins and safety railings, providing a secure environment for kids to watch the limestone pillars float by.
Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave)
While there are some stairs involved, the paths inside this massive cave are well-lit and sturdy. Older children will love the 'dragon scale' rock formations, and the cool internal temperature provides a nice break from the tropical heat.
Luon Cave via Bamboo Boat
Switch to a traditional bamboo boat rowed by a local. This is much safer and more relaxing for families with small children than kayaking. You will pass through a low cave into a quiet lagoon where you can often spot wild monkeys on the cliffs.
Sun Wheel (Mystic Mountain)

Dolphin Palace (Quang Ninh Exhibition Center)
Located right next to the museum, this building is shaped like a giant dolphin. The surrounding plaza is vast and car-free, giving children plenty of space to run around safely while you enjoy the views of the bay's edge.
Long Tien Pagoda
Located at the foot of Bai Tho Mountain, this is the largest pagoda in Ha Long. The courtyard is peaceful and offers a glimpse into local spiritual life. It is easily reachable by taxi and features flat surfaces for easy walking.
Hon Gai Seafood Street
Finish your journey on the Hon Gai side of the city. This area is less touristy and more authentic. Many restaurants have outdoor seating right on the sidewalk, allowing kids to be a bit more active while you enjoy fresh, budget-friendly grilled squid.

The best time to visit Ha Long with a family is during the spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November).
