The Itinerary
Day 1: Downtown Dubai - Modern Wonders
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
Start your journey at the Dubai Mall. The aquarium features a massive 10-million-liter tank and a walk-through tunnel that kids will love. It is fully stroller-accessible and located right in the heart of the city.
Lunch at The Dubai Mall
Enjoy a wide variety of family-friendly dining options. The mall is climate-controlled and offers excellent facilities for families, including baby changing rooms and quiet areas.
Burj Park Leisure Walk
Step outside to Burj Park for a breath of fresh air. This green space offers incredible views of the Burj Khalifa and is the perfect place for kids to run around while you take photos of the skyline.
The Dubai Fountain Show
Watch the spectacular water, light, and music show at the base of the Burj Khalifa. The shows are free and run every 30 minutes in the evening, making it a perfect, low-cost highlight for the family.
Day 2: Jumeirah & City Walk - Coastal Fun
Kite Beach
Enjoy the morning at this family-favorite beach. It features dedicated play areas, a jogging track perfect for strollers, and plenty of casual food trucks for a quick snack.
The Green Planet
Head over to City Walk to visit this indoor tropical rainforest. It is an educational and sensory experience where kids can see birds, sloths, and reptiles in a temperature-controlled biodome.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah
Explore this modern take on a traditional bazaar. The wide, flat paths are stroller-friendly, and you can take a traditional Abra boat ride through the canals for a unique view of the Burj Al Arab.
Dinner at City Walk
Return to City Walk for an evening meal. This outdoor pedestrianized district is designed for walking and features colorful light installations and fountains that entertain children during dinner.
Day 3: Old Dubai & Creekside - Cultural Roots
Al Shindagha Museum
Discover Dubai’s history through high-tech, interactive exhibits that are engaging for all ages. The museum is located in the historic district and is well-paved for strollers.
Dubai Creek Abra Crossing
Cross the creek on a traditional wooden boat for just 1 AED. It is a quick, thrilling ride for kids and a must-do Dubai experience. Note: Strollers can be carried onto the larger boats easily.
Dubai Creek Park & Children's City
Visit one of the city's oldest and largest parks. Children's City is an indoor educational center within the park that features a planetarium and interactive science galleries.
Dubai Garden Glow
Finish your trip at Zabeel Park’s glowing wonderland. This massive installation features hundreds of glowing structures made from recycled materials, creating a magical evening environment for kids.
Best Time & Weather
The best time to visit Dubai for a family trip is between November and March. During these months, the weather is pleasant and mild, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). This allows for comfortable outdoor activities at the beach and parks. Avoid the summer months (June to September) when extreme heat makes outdoor exploration difficult with young children.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED). Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, from malls to small cafes. However, it is useful to carry a small amount of cash for traditional markets (souks) and the Abra boat rides. Tipping is common but not mandatory; a 10-15% tip at restaurants is generally appreciated if a service charge isn't already included.
Getting Around
Dubai is very easy to navigate. The Dubai Metro is world-class, fully accessible for strollers, and connects most major landmarks. For more direct travel, apps like Careem and Uber are widely used and offer options for cars with child seats (Careem Kids). Taxis are also plentiful and relatively affordable for short distances within the city.
