Light, breathable clothing is essential, and travelers should be prepared for occasional summer rain showers which provide a refreshing break from the heat.
Visas & Border Crossings
Traveling between Japan and South Korea is highly efficient. Most Western travelers (US, UK, EU, etc.) can enter Japan visa-free for up to 90 days. For South Korea, the K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) is often required and should be applied for online at least 72 hours before departure. The cross-border ferry from Fukuoka to Busan is a treated as an international departure/arrival with full customs and immigration procedures.
